It's Spring!

I am so in love with spring right now. Well, I am dreading the summer heat, but the outdoor play is so fun! Madison loves to be outside and loves to play in the water, so of course sprinkler play is a must! She loved this. She sat on it, stomped in it, and tried to drink it. She was soaked and as happy as could be!

Jason kept turning it up and down and it got her in the face a couple of times. She thought about crying a few times and then decided not to. It was funny. She eventually caught on to Jason at the sprocket and now knows where the water is coming from. We've had to detach the sprinkler and roll up the hose when not in use or it's a battle to keep her out of it.

We went to East Texas to my parents house for Easter this year. We got a big kick out of Madison picking up her eggs. Jason made her practice the whole, "pick it up and put it in your basket" game before she went. She loved this. By mid-day she had the "pick it up, shake it, then put it in your basket" game down. Mom filled the eggs with quarters so the shaking was worth it!

Oh to be a kid again... She was amazed by each egg, like each one was new and different. I am sure that it helped that she had 4 people following her around eagerly clapping and cheering her on like each egg was the best one yet!

We left the community hunt and went back home to my parents house where she hunted these same eggs all over again. I am sure these same eggs were picked up and placed in her basket at least 7-8 times! She was zonked to say the least. She dropped right down in her basket to have a refreshing drink and then was ready to go all over again!

The Easter bunny arrived before we left to go to church. This being Madison's first egg hunt Jason said that being Santa was a way cooler job and wasn't all that impressed with the Easter bunny. Still, the bunny did a great job of strategically placing all those eggs! By now Madison was over the "pick them up, shake them, put them in the basket game." This was now, "find it, break it open, if it is not the snack you want throw it on the ground and keep searching for the one that has animal crackers in it." They were found and they were eaten and the rest of the eggs were left in the yard when we went to church!

I guess there are perks to being an only child. I am pretty sure my Easter basket was never this full on Easter morning with my other 3 siblings running around.
