December 27, 2010

According to the doctor's records, today is the official due date for Madison's arrival. Needless to say, she's not here quite yet! I had a doctor's appointment at 7:15 this morning. I was up and showered and there early just hoping for some news that we were getting close. I was told that we were healthy and to go back home and continue on as usual. Not what I was hoping for, so I went home and went back to sleep! A few weeks ago we were given the option to induce on December 23rd, purely for convenience purposes because my doctor would be out of town and not around for the official due date. After deciding that we weren't interested and then changing our minds and then calling people for opinions and ending in a stressed out crying session, we still know that we made the right decision by waiting. However, now we are getting a little anxious and are just ready for her to be here and to start this crazy journey into parenthood. We still can hardly believe that at any moment now(literally) we will actually bring home a baby -our child. Even saying it here doesn't really seem real.
The most asked question we get is "Are you ready?" And of course you say, "Yes!" but then we ask, well what are we ready for? The hospital bag is packed, the car seat in installed, clothes are washed, bedding is ready, diapers are stocked, swings are put together, we have stocked up on batteries, and socks, and hats, so we are "ready" as far as feeling we are some what prepared for the transition. But are we ready? I guess we will find out soon enough. We will learn together as we go. ready or not, here she comes...
(Hopefully before the New Year!)
